Wolford met the highest standards of environmentally friendly processes and efficient use of resources right from the start. In a 5-year project, in close collaboration with EPEA Switzerland, Wolford was able to develop innovations, ecology and luxury products that seemed unattainable until then. These products are now Cradle to Cradle Certified™ GOLD, EPEA GmbH acted as Material Health Assessor. Sustainability is part of Wolford's overall responsibility, which they have been actively taking on for over 60 years. As a member of the “Smart Textile Industry” network, Wolford has focused all his ingenuity on rethinking and redesigning core business collections using the Cradle to Cradle® design principle in order to generate new nutrients for products in biological or technical cycles.

Wolford is today (02/2020) the only company that has products for both cycles (biologically and technically at GOLD level Cradle to Cradle Certified™ and has also closed both cycles technologically. (industrial composting and depolymerization)
