EPEA GmbH, founded in 1987 in Hamburg by Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, is an international innovation partner for environmentally friendly industrial products and buildings. We are establishing Cradle to Cradle® as a method for the circular economy in all industrial sectors as well as in the construction and real estate industries. In doing so, we support companies and the public sector: from the molecular to the modular level, from the chemical to the city.

Who we are

EPEA as an innovation partner and Cradle to Cradle pioneer

We're the original. We have been working with the Cradle to Cradle® Design Framework for over 35 years and have optimized numerous products and buildings. We are the world's largest assessment body for Cradle to Cradle® Certified and a pioneer in circular engineering. Ever since, we have been helping customers transform their industrial products and buildings towards true recyclability.

We use the Cradle to Cradle® design principle (C2C). The aim is to make industrial products and buildings better and not just less bad. C2C offers the opportunity to achieve circular and healthy industrial products and buildings and to be ahead of compliance requirements in terms of sustainability.
