Primary chocolate wrapping

RITTER SPORT uses a lightweight and fully recyclable single-material packaging solution made of polypropylene since 1991. With the help of that design, the company can reduce the amount of packaging needed significantly compared to conventional packaging of chocolate.

The company’s packaging developers strove further to achieve a certification according to the Cradle-to-Cradle Certified™ Product Program.

For RITTER SPORT, packaging means extremely detailed definitions of which ingredients and raw materials are used and that they are recyclable. The manufacturing processes of their suppliers are assessed by EPEA in terms of their use of renewable energy, responsible use of water and social responsibility. This will allow them to reach their goal of making future RITTER SPORT packaging useable for technical material cycles. The German Packaging Institute awarded RITTER SPORT the German Packaging Prize in 2013 for developing its latest generation of display stands.
