“I'm not protecting the environment by destroying it less”

Michael Braungart, co-founder of the Cradle to Cradle® design principle and founder of EPEA, makes a clear statement in an interview with the online magazine “1E9!”.

Michael Braungart, co-founder of the Cradle to Cradle® design principle and founder of EPEA, decisively represents his position in an interview with the online magazine '1E9! '. His goal is not only to identify environmental problems, but also to encourage companies to actively take action and develop sustainable solutions together. In view of complex challenges such as harmful chemicals in waste water or the increasing pollution of the earth by non-biodegradable products, he underlines the need for an interdisciplinary and holistic approach. His message is clear: 'Less bad' is far from enough!

In the interview, Michael Braungart talks about innovative ideas such as the deposit system for all packaging, the concept of subscription washing machines and the importance of environmentally friendly car tires. As a pioneer of the cradle-to-cradle concept, he focuses on circular economy and endless recycling, particularly when dealing with plastic.

His approach is characterized by the conviction that real change can only be achieved by restructuring our economic system. He stresses that doing without is not the solution, but that we need to fundamentally rethink the way we produce, use and dispose of products.
