Cradle to Cradle in Finland

EPEA cooperates with circular economy consultancy Ethica Finland

The circular economy is progressing as fast as in Finland in hardly any other country. By 2025, the country high in northern Europe aims to become a global pioneer. However, the Finns must also ask themselves a key question during this change: What kind of materials do they want to keep in their circulatory systems?

With the local knowledge of Ethica and EPEA's Cradle to Cradle® expertise, organizations are finding out exactly that. Markus Diem, head of the Hamburg EPEA office and responsible for EPEA's international networks, explains: “Together with Ethica, we can introduce manufacturing companies in Finland to the Cradle to Cradle design concept and give them the tools to produce healthy and recyclable products. At the same time, builders and planners benefit from our experience in healthy and circular construction. This allows them to build the next generation of buildings for Finland that have a positive footprint and blend in with the surrounding area. ”

In Finland, a large number of circular economy projects focus on construction and urban planning. Vesa Helkkula, Managing Partner of Ethica Finland, said: “We are delighted at the increasing rate at which the construction industry and other sectors are taking a more holistic view of value creation, and we are excited to shape this change.”

Whether in the construction sector or another industrial sector, Finnish companies can rely on the expertise of both partners on their journey into the circular economy: Ethica provides support with expertise on circular economy strategies, carbon neutrality and sustainable management. EPEA as an accredited C2C Certified™ assessor provides in-depth knowledge of safe and recyclable materials and offers digital solutions for Cradle to Cradle products and buildings.
