EPEA and GSCS start cooperation

In pursuit of its aim to design healthy and circular textile goods, EPEA has joined hands with GSCS International Ltd., a Bangladesh based organization with global footprint, that offers steady, sustainable, and enduring development as a provider of certification, assessment, audit, verification, inspection and capacity building. Bangladesh is one of the largest textile producers in the world and with this collaboration based in Dhaka you are able to start here at the very origin.

Abdul Mottaleb founded GSCS in 2010 in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, home to numerous textile factories, to support companies across various industries to design healthy, fair and sustainable products. Very recently, GSCS has been selected as a General Assessment Body as the first ever Asian Organization to reach the platform.

Now, Managing Director Mottaleb is taking it a step further by collaborating with EPEA as their Material Health Assessment Body. He says, "With EPEA's expertise in Cradle to Cradle we can establish the circular economy more firmly and contribute to make the world sustainable." And this is important! To achieve positive economic, social and environmental impacts, companies need to consider the use of resources, production processes and relationships with business partners along the entire value chain. Markus Diem, Head of EPEA's Hamburg office and responsible for EPEA's international networks, says: "With this cooperation we can offer our customers an even better connection to their production and supply chains, making it easier for them to enter the circular economy."
